Obituary
Ernie was born December 11, 1932 in rural Carbondale, Illinois. He was the son of Ernest Alfred Hale and Rose Elizabeth (Ballard) Hale. He was married to Ethel Mae (Smith) Hale on September 20, 1954, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2013. He has one son James Michael Hale of Helotes Texas, who survives him. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife, and son David Barry Hale.
Ernie was preceded in death by six siblings; Thomas Jefferson Hale, Doris Maxine (Hale) Bates, James Delbert Hale, Charles Eugene Hale, Donald Ray Hale, and Phyllis Gene (Hale) Cox, and two half-siblings Lonis Hale and Frances (Hale) Sarafin.
Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the 5th Regimental Combat Team as a Machine Gunner. He worked as a Construction worker and Truck Driver until 1965 when he was employed by the United States Department of Justice, where he retired from in 1985. He was employed with the Dallas Scottish Rite until 1996 as Property Manager. Ernie was a Mason in good standing with the Seagoville Masonic Lodge, Seagoville, TX, A 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason at Dallas Scottish Rite Temple, Dallas, TX.
His remains will be cremated, and his remains will be interred in the Murdale Garden of Memories Cemetery, near Carbondale, Ill, where his wife, Ethel Mae, and his son David Barry are interred.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 6th at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville Texas.
