Everett O. Freeman, age 91 years, of Gulfport, Mississippi passed away at his home peacefully on May 1, 2015. He was born on December 26, 1923 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to Oscar and Rose Freeman.

At the age of 17, he joined the Army-Air Corp and served his country for four years during WWII. At the end of the war he married his sweetheart and moved to Southern California where he lived for 43 years and raised five children. He graduated from Cerritos College with honors and worked for 32 years at Rockwell International where he retired as Senior Buyer at the age of 55. Upon retirement he started a second career in real estate, property management and as a property developer. He and his wife Anita moved to Gulfport, MS in 1989 where he continued to purchase, rent and sell properties. A long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and greeter at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, he was a man of integrity, a loving husband, father and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Freeman, his sister Helen Dubuisson, son Dennis Freeman and grandson Joshua Jones. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Anita (Sadler) Freeman; his children Michael (Cindy) Freeman of San Diego, CA, Mary (Bill) White of Gulfport, MS, David Freeman of Lake Elsinore, CA, Ann (Ruben) Freeman-Manzanares of Olympia, WA and daughter-in-law Maryann Freeman of Buena Park, CA; grandchildren Jeremy (Heather) Jones, Matt (Kerri) Freeman, Jennifer Jones-Lacey (Chris), Chad (Katie) Freeman, Clay Freeman and Gabriel Manzanares; great-grandchildren Logan Freeman, Sydnee Freeman, Lucas Freeman and Eden Lacy; his sisters Evelyn Smith of Saucier, MS, Pauline Barrilleaux of Ocean Springs, MS, and Wanda "Joan" (Larry) Sherrill of Silverdale, WA.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport on Friday, May 8, 2015. Visitation is from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Mass starts at 12:30pm with burial to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with U.S. Army honors In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph Building Fund or St. Judes Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
