Dorrence B. Brucker, 77, passed away unexpectedly at 6:07 p.m. Friday (May 1, 2015) at his home in Mason City.

Dorrence was born Nov. 16, 1937 in Normal, the son of Bernell and Dorothy Webber Brucker. He married Gloria Luken on Feb. 19, 1961 in San Jose.

Dorrence is survived by his wife; three daughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Paton, Sarah (Lee) Benner and Martha (Dennis) Crum; five granddaughters; one brother, Robert W. Brucker; one sister-in-law, Beverly Brucker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John.

Dorrence spent his early years in the Fairbury-Cropsey area. He graduated from the University of Illinois. Upon graduation, Dorrence spent five years with the University of Illinois Extension Service in Lincoln. He later served as a farm manager with the Sangamon Valley FBFM for 37 years.
