Mrs. Linda Gail Bridges, age 71, of 115 Riverside Drive, Tallapoosa, GA, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012.

Mrs. Bridges was born October 9, 1940 in Gadsden, AL to the late Ernest Hyatt and Ida Louise Lacey Moon.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Sonya Arnold; and three brothers-in-law, Edward Hand, Dan Norman, and Charles Bridges.

Her greatest honor was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved Jesus with all of her heart, mind, and soul.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Leonard Ross Bridges; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Mark Murphy of Bremen, GA, and Kim and Wade Williams of Buchanan; six grandchildren, Cassie Gail Murphy, Richard and Lora Williams, Laura Marie Murphy, Samantha and Trent Crabbe, David Mark Murphy, and Joseph Ross Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Presley Crabbe and Ryleigh Williams; three sisters, Donna Moon Hand, Susie Moon Norman, and Ernesta Moon Santos, all of Tallapoosa; a brother, Gene Moon of Tallapoosa; her mother-in-law, Martha Bridges of Tallapoosa; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobby Bridges, Pete and Barbara Bridges, and Perry and Carolynn Bridges, all of Tallapoosa, Carolyn Bridges of North Carolina, and Wendell Arnold of Tallapoosa; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Stanley McCain, Sammy Robinson and Timmy Hand officiating. Music was provided by Sonny Lacey and Bryant Hand.

Pallbearers serving were Richard Williams, David Murphy, Joseph Murphy, Nick Gilley, Steve Arrowood, Sammy Robinson and John Causey.

Interment followed in Poplar Springs Church Cemetery.

The service concluded with her Grandson, Josh Murphy, playing Amazing Grace on Bag Pipes.

Miller Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
