Joseph Pierce Walker, Sr. died Monday, May 4, 2015 in Hazlehurst, MS, he was 90 years old.

Mr. Walker was born February 17, 1925 in Drew, MS. He was a Army Air Corp Pilot. Mr. Walker graduated from Ole Miss with a B.S. and masters in education where he also lettered in basketball and track. Mr. Walker coached at French Camp and Utica, MS. He was principal at Utica and Forest Hill and also headmaster at Copiah Academy he taught at Mississippi College and Milsaps University. Mr. Walker was a member of the Mississippi Coaches Hall of Fame. He was a member of Live Oaks Golf Club. He was a baptist deacon.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 70 years, Delora Walker of Jackson,MS; two sons, Joe Walker, Jr. of Louisville,KY and David B. Walker of Jackson,MS; two sisters, Nanette Shaw of Indianapolis,IN and Shirley Smith of Murfreesboro,TN; three grandsons, Joe Walker III, Brian Walker and Luke Walker; one great-grandson, Kai Walker and one great- granddaughter, Maia Walker.

Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Friday at Raymond Road Baptist Church with services at 11:00a.m. Saturday at Raymond Road Baptist Church with Brother Wilber Irwin and Rev.Jonathan Russell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Billy Newman, Brian Fisher, Larry Boyd, David Glascow, Doug Womack and Lamar Currie.
