Rev. Gerald Edward Bishop, 79, beloved husband of 58 years to Barbara Fay Bishop, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center. Born Oct. 28, 1935 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mabel Grubbs Bishop. He attended Georgetown College and Southern Seminary. After being ordained in 1958, he began his ministry pastoring churches in Ohio and Kentucky until his retirement in 2012. He served and chaired various local, state and national Committees of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Other than his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Lou Ann Hyder, Versailles, KY; son, Gerald Ray (Stephanie) Bishop; grandchildren, Rachel Smith, Matthew Hyder, and Bradley Bishop; and seven great grandchildren. Entombment will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
