Ann Marie Scott Payne, 62, of Roanoke, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 2, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 8, 1952, in Esmont, Virginia. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Rachael Scott and sister, Bertha J. Barrow. She is survived by her daughters, Rosilyn (Ephriam) Bethel, of Cameron, N.C. and Shannon Starkey, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Kristopher and Korrinne Bethel, of Cameron, N.C., Bryan Starkey, Kenneth Parker, and Rachael Starkey, all of Roanoke; siblings, Francis (Janet) Scott Jr., Michael (Gloria) Scott, Sr., Isaac (Charlene) Scott, all of Roanoke, Jacqueline Poe, of Chesapeake, Alphonso (Carol) Scott, of Apopka, Fla., and Lynda Taylor, of Dale City; aunts, Janet (Alden) Coleman, of Columbus, Ohio and Marie Scott, of Charlotte, N.C.; uncle, Benjamin (Lorraine) Paige, of Esmont; numerous cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends. Special recognition to her devoted and loving cousin, Eunice Morrison and sister in Christ, Gaynelle Akerson. Sincerest appreciation to the outstanding and capable staff of Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center and Gentle Shepherd Hospice, especially Pam and Rosa. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at God's House Baptist Ministry with the Rev. Dr. Floyd W. Davis officiating. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call for viewing on Friday, May 8, 2015, from noon until 4 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home and viewing will resume at 5 p.m. at the church.
