OBITUARY OF MR. JOHN BEACH

Mr. John BEACH, residing at No. 739 Asylum avenue, died on Saturday last, in his 89th year. He had been retired from business nearly twenty years, his last active business having been as head of the firm of John Beach & Co., card and wire manufacturers, on State street. Mr. BEACH has not, during the last years of his life, shown the evidence of decrepitude and decay usual in men of his advanced age, who have led an active business life. He was almost daily seen upon our streets, was a regular attendant at the Asylum Hill Congregational church, apparently in good health, and with children and grandchildren to share his home he seemed to live in the enjoyment of a serene and happy old age.
