Mrs. Millie Belle Gunkle, 65, widow of Albert M. Gunkle, died Tuesday evening at 5:30 o'clock at St. Elizabeth hospital where she had been a patient for the past ten days. The family home is at 1800 Greenbush street. A lifelong resident of Tippecanoe county, Mrs. Gunkle was born June 7, 1870, seven miles northwest of the city. Her parents were David and Sarah (McCabe) McLaughlin. Her marriage to Mr. Gunkle took place April 17, 1888 and two years later they moved from a farm to Lafayette. She was a member of Grace U. B. church and active in church organizations. Her husband died in 1913. She leaves the following children: Mrs. M. D. Trescott, of Chicago; Mrs. R. C. Brumfield, Freeport, N. Y.; Mrs. William Saidla, this city, and Miss Dorothy Gunkle and Clifford Gunkle, at home, also two brothers, Ambrose and John McLaughlin, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Rose, all of this city, and six grandchildren. The body was removed to the Hippensteel and Funkhouser funeral home, where friends may call after 6 o'clock Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be conducted there Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. M. E. Reed officiating. Interment in the family lot in Isley cemetery .
