Son of the late Clyde and Effie Thomason, he was the widower of Gladys White Thomason (married on December 20, 1947). He was a veteran of the United States Navy (WWII). He was retired from General Motors after 38 years working in security. He was survived by his son, Douglas Thomason; sister, JoAnn Wilbanks; and an extended family of relatives and friends. His funeral was held on May 7, 2015, with Pastor Steve Steward officiating.
