Charles Francis Matteson
      CALDWELL — Charles Francis Matteson, 84, Caldwell, formerly of Cascade and Weiser, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1991, at his home.
      Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the Fairview Cemetery, Oregon Slope, near Weiser, under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser.
      Mr. Matteson was born October 22, 1906, at Spokane, Wash., a son of James A. and Myrtle Jackson Matteson. He grew up and was educated at Cascade, Idaho. He married Ina Etta Thompson on March 1926, at Boise, and the couple settled in Cascade until 1946 and then they moved to Weiser. During his working years he worked as a logger on road construction, the railroad and later in retail grocery. He retired in 1969. The couple moved to Caldwell in 1986.
      Survivors include his wife, Ina of Caldwell, two daughters, June (Mrs. Raymond Middlemas) of Spokane, Wash., and Renee (Mrs. Ralph Yeager) of Nampa; One son James I. Matteson of Boise: two brothers, Clarence A. Matteson of Portland, Ore. and Howard W. Matteson of Weiser; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
