WEISER — Services for James R, Marx, 82, Weiser, who died Saturday at a Weiser hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Weiser Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Larry Hansen. Interment will follow at Fairview under the directions of Northam-Jones Funeral Home.
He was born July 22, 1889, at Moroni, Utah. He grew up in Utah and married Mary Elizabeth Daniels Sept. 1, 1915, at Nephi, Utah. Following their marriage, the couple lived at Moroni for 12 years then moved to Carbon County, Utah. They lived at Magill, Nev., for six years then came to Weiser in 1932, where they operated a truck farm until 1941. Then they farmed at Vale until 1936. They returned to Weiser in 1965 when Mr. Marx retired. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his wife of Weiser; five daughters, Mrs. Chester (Maggie) Hill, Baker, Ore., Mrs. Jewell Blank, Middleton, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Haye, Pendleton, Ore. Mrs. Daryl (Joan) DeLong, Vale, and Mrs. Ronald (Diana) Bates, Hines, Ore.; five sons, James M. Marx, Longview, Wash., Glennis M. Marx, Spokane, Bert R. Marx, Portland, Dwight C. Marx, Everett, Wash., and Sherwood D. Marx, Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, W. E. Marx, Fairfield; six sisters, Mrs. Belle Graham, Mrs. Rhea Combs and Mrs. Glenn McIntosh, all of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Alice Freeman, Miss Margaret Marx and Miss Beth Marx, all of San Francisco; 40 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
