Mr. Webb proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1972. He spent 20 years in the United States Air Force serving his country in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After returning he worked at Eglin Air Force Base FL for 20 years in the Civil Service. He later became a handyman for Four Season Realty. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, and most importantly his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, of 62 years, Shirley, sons Gene Jr. (Tina), and Ronald Webb. Grandchildren Patricia Thompson, Robert Webb, Lauren Stallings, Chelsea Wilson, Katie Lyons, Casey Webb and Kyle Webb, four great grandsons and special ones Chase and Grant, his brothers Wallace and Fochie Webb, sisters Rose Cox, Mona &( Cecil) Wright, Roberta and Lewis Garrison, Almyra &(Jim) Berry, Geraldine Mangum, brother-in-law Sid Hubbard, sister-in-laws Viana Dale and Effie Hubbard .He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Hilda Swank, brothers, Ralph, Charlie, Beaumont, and William Webb.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his church, First Baptist Church of Mary Esther, 28 North St, Mary Esther FL. 32569. A special thanks to his church family, Dr. John Chaney and staff, Dr. Vigo and staff.
A graveside service will be held on May 6,2015 at 12:30 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.
