Major League Baseball Player. He played in leftfield for thirteen seasons with the Philadelphia Athletics, Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox. He was part of a potent Athletics lineup that included Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx. He was named to the American League All Star Team eight times during his career. He has 2051 career hits with 1283 RBIs and a .296 lifetime batting average. He was inducted into the Washington State Sport Hall of Fame.
