Avanell Cone, age 81, was called home to glory on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015.

Her Homecoming Celebration will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 6th, at Coffman Funeral Home with Brother Robert Shaddox and Bo Norman officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, May 5th, at Coffmans Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bo Norman, Joshua Petersen, Jeremy Clary, Wesley Crow, Tom Angel and Abe Clary. Honorary pallbearers are members of First Baptist Church Greta Pinkston Sunday School Class, Dr. Sameh Abul-Ezz and the UAMS Nephrology Team.

William and Celeste McArtor were unexpectedly blessed with the birth of Avanell on July 17, 1933, in Parthenon. Avanell met the soul mate God created for her, Bobby Lee, and they were married on June 12, 1953. As a young couple, Bob and Avanell enjoyed traveling to Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Austria and France while Bob served in the United States Army. After their adventures abroad, they made their home in Harrison and began the family that hasn’t stopped growing.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Harrison and when unable to attend enjoyed watching the services by internet. Always the seamstress, family members were blessed to receive her special handiworks. She thoroughly enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and just simply creating. She also enjoyed keeping up with everyone on Facebook, playing Solitaire every evening on her ipad, shopping online and reading books on her Nook. She was not afraid of learning something new especially when it would keep her in touch with her family.

She was preceded in death by her soul mate Bobby Lee, daughter Janet Lea, parents, sisters and brothers-in law, Remel & Ruth Robinson and Claude & Gayle Carlton.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Wesley Crow and Julia and Tom Angel all of Harrison and Becky and Abe Clary of Lead Hill; five grandchildren, Chastity Norman and husband, Bo, Jeremy Clary and wife, Paige all of Lead Hill, Amy Petersen and husband, Joshua, Emily Crow and Katie Angel, all of Harrison; four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Lily and Sarah Norman, all of Lead Hill and Avalee Petersen of Harrison.
