She was born on July 21, 1930, in Stratford, to Martin and Ethel (Simonite) Lyons. She married the love of her life, a sailor, Myrtis R. "Mutt" Taylor, from Redgranite, WI, on July 9, 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa.
They have three children, Lindalee Taylor, Marcia "Robin" (Louie) Piccolo and Myrtis R. "Jeff" (Abigail) Taylor II. Five grandchildren, Marcia and Louis Piccolo; and Sarah, Roseanne and Myrtis Taylor III, and two adorable great-grandchildren, Gianna Piccolo and Matthew Taylor.
Having been born during the depression, Sally was always grateful for the gifts God bestowed upon her and her family. Willing to share, she provided groceries and clothing to those she felt were less fortunate than her. Her favorite thing to do was to talk with her friends and family on the phone.
She was "Grandma Sally" to A.J. and Erica DeSimone, proud of the adults they have become. She loved visits from her "adopted" son, Michael Tersigni.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Lewis and Myrtie Taylor; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel (Frank) Scinto, Gladys (Marcel) Griser and Madeline "Dolly" (Guy) Frizinia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin (Helen) Lyons and Joseph (Jeanette) Lyons; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Vera (Morris) Gunderson, Ivy (Valentine) Lungwitz and Doris (Pete) Pedersen; brothers-in-law, Donald (Aida) Taylor, Denis Taylor and Ruford Taylor.
Also surviving is her sister, Katherine Yacavangelo; one brother-in-law, Rexford (Joan) Taylor, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Taylor and Susie Taylor, many nieces and nephews and special friends.
