Our Mom, Norma Jean, passed away peacefully on June 13th, at the age of 80. She was born on April 3, 1932, in Arlington, MA. The daughter of Clara and Everett Henderson Sr. She graduated from Arlington High School and Mount Ida Junior College. She was employed as a secretary in her early years. In 1955 she married Earle (Buddy) Crowell SR. They made Cape Cod their forever home, together they raised 7 children, had 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Norma worked off and on during the years her children were young, she then went to work for Sears Roebuck at the Cape Cod Mall for over 20 years. After retiring from Sears she joined the Inn Seasons Resort marketing team, where she met and worked with some great people. Norma enjoyed working and continued to do so until she was 79 years old. She will be remembered for her great smile and her feisty good nature. She loved to play bingo, read and watch competitive ice skating. She was a big fan of the Boston Bruins all her life. Norma also loved just meeting her girls for coffee, she attended St. Francis Xavier catholic church. For many years she was a Brownie troop leader in Hyannis.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Deborah and Gerauld Zeigler,Earle (Champ) and Denise(deceased) Crowell Jr.,Pamela and Lawrence Frasier,Kathryn and Albert Fernandes, Christoper and Aileen Crowell, Sean Crowell and Wendy Mello-Collard and Jennifer and William Bullock Jr.; her sisters: Ann Eagleston and Vivian Hyslop (deceased); her brother: Everett (Murph) Henderson Jr. and his wife Lane; special nieces: Kristen Tortolini and family, Laura Hylslop McElhinney and family; sister in laws: Betty, Marion, Helen, Dee Dee, Beatrice and many many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Sunday, June 17th from 4-7pm at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home 160 West Main Street, Hyannis. A committal service will be held Monday, June 18th at the National Cemetery in Bourne at 11am.
