Ricky Charles “Pawpaw” King, 70, a resident of Sophia, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.
He was born on January 28, 1945 in Guilford County to the late Willard and Grace Yokley King. He had been a resident of this area all of his life and he attended Ledford High School. He owned and operated Oak Tree Frame Company in Thomasville for 30 years and was a member of Mercy Church in Archdale. He enjoyed fishing, shopping for antiques and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was his stepfather, Kermit Cecil. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Paschal King; his daughters, Dina and Sharon King; his sisters, Rebecca Cridlebaugh (Charlie) and Gayle Ramey. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brooke and Justin Pait (Tabitha), and Stephanie Henderson (Justin); his great grandchildren, Bryson, Maddie, and Hailey Pait, Alana, Rilan and Nevaeh Henderson, and Gavin Skipper.
A service to celebrate Ricky’s life will be held at 2 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, May 5th, from the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Pastor John DeVine officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in High Point. His family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:45 at the funeral home.
