Emma Alberta Giddens, 99, of Denton died Monday, Nov 2, 1998 in Denton. She was born Sept 14, 1899, in Denton to George Clinton and Maude Gill Masters, early Denton residents. She attended Denton public schools and the College of Industrial Arts, now TWU. She studied music with Reuben Davies and Cari Venth at Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth and was a graduate of the Atlanta Conservatory of Music.
In 1920 she married Albert Lee Giddens in Fort Worth. He died in 1956. Mrs. Giddens was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney for over 60 years, where she was active in the Fidelis class.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Brenholtz of Denton and Marie Weidemann of Woodward, OK; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. One grandson, Bradley Gerald Brenholtz, is deceased.
