Joseph William Orndorff, a native of Buena Vista, VA, was born April 1, 1896, the son of Joseph William, Sr. and Laura Lee Snidder Orndorff.
He was owner and operator of the Shady Acres motel and restaurant in the Crofton Community for the past seven years. Prior to that, the family had made their home in Dayton, OH.
Survivors include his wife Rebecca Adams Orndorff; two sons Howard of Albuquerque, NM and William Orndorff, of Dayton; two daughters, Mary Jo and Joy Lee, both of Crofton; two brothers Roy and J. M. Orndorff, both of Arlington, VA; two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Willard, Roanoke, VA and Mrs. Rachel Craig, Baltimore, MD.
