Iris was born in Ephraim to Wilford Guy and Edna Virginia Sparks Lunn.
She married John David Martin on January 17, 1947. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Iris enjoyed being surrounded by her family, traveling throughout the West with her husband in their camper and later in their fifth wheel, cruising with friends, and attending the performances and athletic events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a longtime supporter of Utah hockey beginning with the SL Golden Eagles.
An active member of the LDS Church, she held many auxiliary positions and served a mission in South Salt Lake with her husband.
Iris is survived by her three children, Candice (Rick) Kammerman, Robert Martin, and Bill (Chris) Martin; sisters-in-law, Donna Sonntag and Evelyn Geigle; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and her faithful dog, Romeo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepfather, brother, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs at Canyon Home and Hospice and Silverado Aspen Park for their loving, thoughtful care.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the Highland View Ward Chapel, 3051 South 2900 East. Friends may call on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services at the church on Tuesday from 11:00-11:45 a.m..
