Betty entered this life on January 22, 1924 in Nehawka, Nebraska, daughter of the late August and Amanda May (Anderson) Meyer. She moved with her family to the Millcreek and Noel, Missouri area at the age of eight years. Betty was united in marriage to Levi Thomas (Buss) Womack, on June 16, 1941 and to this union three children were born, Tommy, Betty and Bonnie. Throughout her life she was a hardworking and devoted homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, raising African Violets, sewing, crocheting and caring for her cats and dog. Betty accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chester, William, Edward and Donald Meyer; three sisters, Laverne Kennison and Margorie and Sarah Meyer; two son in-laws, Don Boyett and Mike Hopkins; and a grandson, Kevin Boyett.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of seventy-three years, Levi Thomas “Buss” Womack of the home; a son, Tommy Womack and wife, Virginia, of Southwest City, Missouri; two daughters, Betty Boyett of Grove, Oklahoma and Bonnie Hopkins of Joplin, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jim Womack and wife, Carmen, of Southwest City, Missouri, David Womack and wife, MiChele, also of Southwest City, Kathy Downing and husband, Wess, of Grove, Oklahoma, Donnetta Kerr and husband, Todd, of Grove, Kelly Boyett and wife, Karla, of Grove and Jennifer Thrasher and husband, Brian, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; several great and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Gideon; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Womack are 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, May 2, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri, with Bro. Rob Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jim Womack, David Womack, Kelly Boyett, Wess Downing and Todd Kerr. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Southwest City First Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Missouri.
