George Jamison, 78, of White Plains, NY, formerly of Vance, SC, departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Fondly known as, "Big George", he was born in Eutawville, SC., the 2nd of two sons born to the late James Jamison and Bertha Anderson Jamison.

He joined the First Baptist Church in Vance, SC at an early age. George attended the local elementary school but was forced to leave early to work in the fields to help support his family on his grandfather's farm. His first employment was with Dupont Lumber Company in Aiken, SC.

On August 9, 1952, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Kernis Washington. This union produced one son. George Jr., and a marriage that has lasted for 63 years. Seeking better employment opportunities in 1954, he ventured to White Plains, NY. There he began a 40 year career/personal relationship with the Minskoff Family.

He became one of the first Black Building Superintendents in Westchester County. He handled 3 different properties as his responsibiilities expanded. George enjoyed Old Westerns, fishing, pool, poker games, annual family 4th of July picnics, travel and family trips.
