Linda R. Valentine, 72, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Sandy Dillon officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may stop at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorials have been established to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Friend may visit www.cantrellfh.com to view Linda’s Tribute Wall and leave condolences for the family. The services for Linda have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Linda Ruth Valentine was born in Cheyenne on August 21, 1942, the daughter of Willard and Neva (Cervany) Randolph. She moved with her family to Bushnell at an early age. She attended school in Bushnell and graduated from the Bushnell High School in 1960. Linda attended Chadron State College and received her teaching degree. She worked for three years in the Peace Corp in Malaysia. After returning to the United States, Linda taught school in Bassett and Bushnell. Linda later worked for Lukens Tool and Die in Gering. She moved to Glendo and worked for a company building log homes. She moved to the Bushnell area and worked for GRI for 25 years while helping take care of her family and friends. She retired from GRI in 2013 due to ill health at which time she moved to Cheyenne to be closer to her brother and sister. Linda was a hard worker; she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in the yard, she was a busy person that always had something to do, but she also enjoyed the simple life and the many pleasures that were offered with that life.

Survivors include her step-children, which Linda always referred to as her “Heart Children”, Michael Valentine of Gering, NE., Michelle Glendening, Mark Valentine, and Melissa Valentine all of Missouri; brother Tom Randolph and sister Susan Rose both of Cheyenne, WY; 6 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dennis Randolph and sister Carol Randolph.
