She was born in Kentucky on Feb. 15,1932, the daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Denny) Carter. Mrs. Byers loved sharing time with family and retired from Foam Rubber Products. She attended the Pentecostal Church.
Charlene is survived by her husband John T. Byers of 65 years; a son Michael G. Byers and granddaughter Shaye D. Byers (companion Troy Johnson) of New Castle; two sisters Alene (Gleen) Daffron and Joyce (Don) McWhorter and two brothers Bobby (Judy) Carter and Kemble Carter all of New Castle. Several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by brother William J.B. Carter; sisters Pauline Forster, Wandleen Staggs, Reba Carter and sister-in-law Janice Carter.
Viewing is at Macer-Hall Funeral Home Wed., May 6 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 7,2015 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at South Mound cemetery.
