Ronnie Bennett, 59, of Evarts, passed from this life on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was born May 9, 1955 in Harlan County and was a lifelong resident here. Ronnie worked for many years at Georgia-Pacific and Forest Products saw mill as a loader operator and lumber grader. He was a self-employed carpenter as well. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Bennett and Emeline Hembree Bennett; two sisters, Reva Middleton and Faye Bennett; and two brothers, Bill and Wayne Bennett.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Easther Stewart Bennett, of Evarts; five daughters, Emeline Cole and husband Brandon, of Evarts; Ronda Bennett, of Evarts; April Wilson and husband Shantwan, of Middlesboro; Stephanie Vick and husband Jeremy, of Evarts; and Hannah Bennett, of Evarts; four grandchildren, Reagan Somers, Alivia Simmons, Julia Bennett and Madison Vick; four brothers, Jim Bennett, Lejunior; Leroy Bennett and wife Diane, of Versailles; Glen Bennett, Lejunior; and Charles "Bubby" Bennett, Harlan; and three sisters, Charlene Smith and husband Kenneth, Barbourville; Shirley Hurst, Lejunior; and Easter Napier and husband Clayton, Dizney.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 pm Monday at Evarts Funeral Home, then after 5 pm Tuesday at the North Evarts Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, (May 6) at the church with the Reverend Cecil Baird officiating.

Burial will follow at Evarts Memorial Gardens with Military Rites presented by the Harlan Honor Guard. Pallbearers will include Brandon Cole, Jeremy Vick, Shantwan Wilson and Sammy Stewart.
