Edwinna Aday, 90 year old resident of Denison, died Friday, April 24th, 2015 at The Terrace of Denison.


Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 28th, 2015 at Chapel on the Hill mausoleum at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with The Reverend Allen W. Snider officiating.


Edwinna was born in Denison, Texas on August 22nd, 1924 to Horace A. Brooks and Edna Laura Tackett Brooks and she later became the adopted daughter of John and Della Taylor of Denison.


She graduated from Denison High School and married Allen V. Aday on April 11, 1943 in Denison, Texas.


He preceded her in death on February 10th, 2006. Edwinna was a homemaker and Past Worthy Matron of Gate City Order Chapter #77 of the Eastern Star. She was of the Methodist faith.


She is survived by her sons, John Robert Aday and his wife, Cathy of Denison and Terry Lynn Aday and his wife, Shelley of Bedford; grandchildren, Chris Aday, Sean Aday and Lisa Aday and great grandchildren, Ella and Amelia Aday. Her oldest son, Michael Lee Aday passed away on November 10th, 2023.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen and brother, Fred Scoggins.

Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison, Texas.
