Sir Name: Her grandfather used "Guklin"; her father (Samuel) used "Guldin" (pronounced "Golden"); Phoebe used "Gulden"; other descendants may have used Golden after the family's arrival in America.

Daughter of the blacksmith Samuel Malacrida Guldin and Elizabeth Hilsaweck (b.1693 in Fayette Co., Georgia; d.1745 in Oley, Berks Co., PA).

Phoebe first married Johannes Andrew Byerly during 1758 in Westmoreland Co., PA. He was a baker, Indian scout and military express rider.

They had 5 children born in Westmoreland Co., PA between 1759 and 1768. They included: Jacob, Andrew and Joseph Byerly.

Johannes had been married twice before and brought 5 children by his second wife (Beatrice Kuhl) into the marriage.

After Johannes Byerly died in 1775 Phoebe married a second time to a Benjamin Lord (b.?, d.1793).
