NEFF – Dorothy Jean, 91, formerly of Salix, died peacefully April 30, 2015, at Arbutus Park Manor surrounded by loving family. Born April 13, 1924, in Croyle Township, daughter of William H. and Dorothy E. (Bodenschatz) Haddon. Preceded in death by parents; husband, James F. Neff, who died Feb. 15, 2007; sisters, Ruth Bunn and Gertrude Coleman- Wirfel; and brothers, Herman, William and Robert Haddon. Survived by son, Donald, married to Rita (Perrine), Mayer, Ariz.; daughters, Sharon, wife of Ronald Kuzmyak, Johnstown; Mary Ellen, wife of James Michno, Toms River, N.J.; and Wilma, wife of Thomas Kurtz, Richland; grandchildren, Melisa Orner, Shawn Oxford, Jennifer (Ben) Curtis and Jessica Kurtz. Sister of Elizabeth Hollen, Ashville; Margaret Brunnet, Sidman; Bernetta Martin, Beaverdale; Sara Marchant, Marion, Ala.; and the Rev. James Haddon, Shinglehouse, Pa. Dorothy was a member of Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a bookkeeper at Salix Bank for more than 20 years and later worked as a lab technician for the American Red Cross. She was known for her decorative crafts and beautiful paintings. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork. Viewing also at Salix Bethel United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Don Poole officiating. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum. The family is especially grateful to the staff at the Crossroads Unit at Arbutus Park Manor for their kindness and loving care.
