Harold D. Akin was born January 14, 1936 in Texas to Leonard and Lina Akin. He passed away April 29, 2015. Harold worked for Modoc Forest Service for 2 years after his marriage to his wife Doris, Harold was a man of the outdoors, and he shared his love of nature with his children. He loved to camp, fish, hike and go down the road less travelled. He had a tree service for many years, cleaning orchards and selling firewood. Harold was also a singer since his teens, being part of Barbershop quartets or a soloist he even led church choirs and was part of a traveling music ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Doris and was blessed with six children, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery on Monday, May 11 at 10 AM and Celebration of Life at Chico Evangelical Free Church Saturday, May 23 at 11 AM.
