Shirley Brown Anthony
August 4, 1936 - April 28, 2015

Shirley Brown Anthony, 78, of Rock Spring, GA departed to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 28th 2015.

Shirley was born August 4th 1936 in Jones County Mississippi to William and Lois Brown. A long time resident of Laurel, Mississippi and Pensacola, Florida,

Shirley enjoyed traveling with her late husband James G. Anthony, being with family and friends, sewing, gardening and reading. Shirley was an accomplished decorator and her home and surrounding gardens were some of the most beautiful in Pensacola.

Most recently Shirley has lived with her son Alan and Daughter-in law Lana in NW Georgia. She appreciated the beautiful area, the wildlife on the lake and the views her home provided. Shirley was a devoted Christian and firmly believed that God always had a plan and a reason for everything in our lives. Shirley loved every minute of every day that God provided and lived a very full and rewarding life. She also knew that when he was ready that God would call her home to be with him and her family in Heaven. Shirley was at peace with the final journey through life and had no fears of it what so ever. She will certainly be missed by her family and friends that remain here on earth but we can all take comfort in the completion of her journey and the joy that it will provide her.

Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, James G. Anthony, Colonel, US Army Ret and her parents, William and Lois Brown.

Shirley is survived by brother, Donnie Brown and his wife Ellen; sons, William Mark Trest and Edward Alan Trest and his wife Lana; grandsons, William Michael Trest and his wife Dawn and James Adam Trest and his wife Lily; great grandchildren, Anne Trest, Liam Trest and Fincher Trest; a special nephew, Willam Chris Brown of Ludington, Michigan; step daughter, Robin Galimore and grandchildren, Amber Galimore and Amy Alvarez along with numerous cousins and other family and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:45am, Monday, May 4, 2015 at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 www.wounded warriorproject.org
