Stella Comeau Leiszler Holt, 95, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. Stella was born in Cloud County near St. Joe, Kansas on November 26, 1919, the daughter of Adelore and Mary Louise (Mallo) Comeau.She married Arthur John "Dick" Leiszler on July 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1973. She married Vern Holt on December 4, 1999 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2004.Stella was a graduate of Parisian Beauty College of St. Joseph, Missouri and was a beautician for fifty years. During that time she also catered many wedding and anniversary receptions. After retiring from her beautician career, she spent the next fourteen years as a fraternity and sorority House Mother at Kansas State and Wichita State Universities.She had been a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe, Kansas and the St. Mary Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. At the time of her death she was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Abilene, Kansas.Stella was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, her daughter-in-law JaNell Leiszler, and by seven sisters; Addie Peltier, Edmia Breault, Ella Giroux, Edmere Steffen, Leona Sterrett, her twin Zella Gosselin, and Mary Rose Sterrett. She was also preceded in death by her six brothers; Henry, Albia, William, Leonor, Joseph, and Emery.She is survived by her four children; Richard Leiszler of Emporia, KS, Janet (Tom) Whitehair of Abilene, KS, Joseph Leiszler of Americus, KS, and Phyllis (Len) Johnsen of Louisburg, KS. Stella is survived by five step-children: Lynda Alstrom, Lois Diehl, Norman (Marty) Holt all of Abilene, KS; Terry (Terry) Longenecker of Chandler, AZ; and Jim (Lorna) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, eleven step grandchildren, and twenty six step great grandchildren. One sister, Orena (Gerald) Foster of California also survives.Danner Funeral Home, 501 North Buckeye, Abilene, KS is handling arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Abilene, KS. Burial will follow in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Abilene, Ks.The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to Hospice of Dickinson County, the Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, or a charity of the donor's choice. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
