Russell J. Armstrong, age 52, died on April 29, 2015 after the fight of his life battling colon cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in 1963, to Thomas and Margaret Armstrong in Niagara Falls, NY. He moved with his family to Monroe, WI at age 4 and went on to graduate from Monroe high school in 1981.

In 1982 Russell married his long time love Darla Jean Bocker, who he met at age 15 while attending a church camp. He attended the culinary program at MATC and worked as a Chef before spending many years in the insurance field. Russell attended Blackhawk Church, loved to golf, cook and spend time with his family and friends. He was known for his sharp wit and found much joy in laughter. Despite the effects of his illness he spent the 2 years since his diagnosis creating many positive memories with his wife, children, family and friends. Russell lived his life to the fullest; he fought hard, he loved dearly, he laughed often and he died gracefully. We rest in the knowledge that he is now safe and perfectly whole in the arms of Jesus.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Darla Jean Armstrong; his children Ian (15) and Maddalen (11); his father Thomas Armstrong; sister Vicki (Daryl) Bennett; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Russell was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Armstrong.
