Member of the Springfield Horse Guards before the war. 1st Sergt. company E, 1st Mass. cavalry. Mustered in Sept. 18, 1861, age 22 [Chicopee]; 2d Lieut. Mar. 7, 1862; 1st Lieut. Jan. 16, 1863. Died of wounds received at Rapidan Station, VA, May 4, 1863.
