Jeffrey Alan Garrett, 67, of Lake Charles, LA died at 8:07 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in a local care facility.

Mr. Garrett was born April 26, 1948 in Chickasha, OK and has lived in Lake Charles for the past sixty-five years. He was a 1966 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and graduated from McNeese State University with his Bachelor’s in Animal Science. He worked most of his life for Basell and PPG, retiring five years ago. Mr. Garrett was an avid outdoorsman, who loved playing golf and fishing. He was an enthusiastic spectator of all sports. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Kay Thompson Garrett; children, Michael Wayne Garrett of DeRidder, LA, William Alan Garrett and wife Jessica of DeRidder, and Tina Lynette Whaley and husband Terry of LeBlanc, LA; mother, Billie Levy Garrett; brother, Garland Garrett, both of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by father, Eddy Garrett; and grandmother, Hazel “Jerry” Rivette.

A gathering of family members and friends will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
