Maxine L. Anderson, age 82 of Olsburg, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.

She was born on July 27, 1932 in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, the daughter of J. Harry and Gladys Estelle (Carr) Murk.

She was married to Raymond L. Anderson on December 19, 1950. He survives of the home.

Maxine was a homemaker. She was baptized and confirmed in the Mariadahl Lutheran Church, which is now the Olsburg Lutheran Church, where she was a devoted member. She was also a member of the Olsburg High School Alumni Association.

Maxine loved her flowers. She loved gardening, planting and sharing starts of her plants with friends and neighbors. You could often find her out in the yard putting together a flower pot or planting a flower bed, and she always added a special embellishment that let everyone know it was her handiwork.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Everett Murk and wife Paula of Blue Rapids; her sister, Delores Murk of Warsaw, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Anderson Douthit and five siblings, Don, Delbert, Lawrence, Mary Jane and Alice Marie Murk.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Olsburg Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Wiens officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, where the family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday. Burial will be in the Olsburg Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Olsburg Lutheran Church for youth programs and activities. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
