Stephen Hollingsworth Averitt, husband of Anna E. Stringfield.
According to NC Troops (Vol 1). Captain Stephen H. Everitt was a Quartermaster with the 13th Battalion of the NC Light Artillery. He was transferred to Burke County, NC
where he was captured at Camp Vance in 1864. He was interred in the federal prison camp at Johnson Island, Ohio.
At the end of the War, he entered the lumbering business with his brother, Sheppard Averitt. They were cutting timber when the Captain was crushed by a falling tree.
