Faye McCurry Perkins, 99 of Kerrville, TX, formerly of the Montford Cove Community, went home to live with her Father on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 while in the care of River Hills Health and Rehabilitation in Kerrville, TX. Faye was born in Columbus, NC on March 6, 1916 and was the last surviving child of her parents, the late William Virgil and Montrey Constance McCurry. She was employed as a blueprint reader for the construction of Liberty warships for the U.S. Navy from 1941 - 1943 during World War II. Later, Faye embraced her work as a nurse in Texas during a time where there was a great need for her profession.

Faye’s favorite hymn was “I’m a child of the King” and will be remembered for her beautiful Iris gardens and being an Appalachian crafter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Tracey Perkins; brothers, Harold McCurry, Osborne McCurry and Carrier McCurry and her two sisters, Harriet Haynes and Mable Pennington.

Left to cherish her legacy as a loving mother and grandmother are her daughters, Mona Rollison and her husband David of Bandera, TX and Myra McCurry of Marion; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Montford Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
