Rudolph Jobe passed away Aug. 21 at his home in Alexandria township, following a lingering illness.
Rudolph Jobe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jobe, was born Jan. 8, 1875, at Amboy, Minn., and was 77 years, 7 months and 12 days old at the time of his death. He grew to manhood at Amboy. On Feb. 25, 1900, he was married to Emma Radke at Amboy, Minn. They lived at Amboy for about four years. The family then moved to Eldred, Minn., and they lived there until 1910 when they moved to Douglas county where they have lived ever since. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and has been very active in church work, having held many offices in the church. He also was active in civic affairs.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jobe, fours sons, Henry Jobe of Eldred, Minn., and Walter Jobe of Napa, Calif., Theodore Jobe of Eldred, and Oscar Jobe of Alexandria, two daughters, Mrs. Lennie Sharrow (Lorena), of Crookston and Mrs. Victor Klewens (Marion) of Henderson, Arkansas, one son, Lawrence, preceded him in death. Twenty-three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Ida Hubrig of Moorhead, Mrs. Pauline Sonarabend of Good Thunder, and Mrs. Gust Radke of Mankato, also survive.
