ERNESTINE ELIZABETH GOODWIN was born to Earnest and Willie Mae Headen on September 5, 1932, in Kenvir, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Ulus Goodwin; four sisters, Sylvia Mae Latimore-Williams, Emma Lois Jones, Juanita Johnson and Terry Lee Jones; two daughters, Darothey Patricia Roberts and Petrah Louise Goodwin. Ernestine accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She joined the Women's Army Corp June 22, 1951. After her honorable discharge, she obtained her certification as a licensed practical nurse. She graduated from Knoxville College in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration. On February 27, 1965 in Centreville, Illinois, Ernestine Headen united in Holy Matrimony with Ulus Goodwin. Ernestine served as a member of the Eastern Star, Esther Chapter St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed cooking large meals, spending time with her family, reading romance novels, doing puzzle books and shopping. Ernestine departed this life on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 1:32 P.M. in the comfort of her home with her family at her bedside. Ernestine E. Goodwin leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Ernest (Felicia) Goodwin; her eight grandchildren, Donald Roberts, Tatonya (Don) Roberts, Ernisha Roberts, Chaney (Kendrick) Bell, Cellisha Roberts, Samantha Roberts, Ernisha and Ernestine Goodwin; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
