On Friday, April 24, 2015, Rosie Mae Clark “Big Mama”, was called home after battling a short-term illness. On September 18, 1928, Rosie Mae Clark was born to the late Sumnell and Ruth Ann “Ruby” Warlick Clark in Humboldt, TN. Rosie received her education with the Gibson County School System.

Rosie accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized on July 21, 1955 at Cumberland and
Hunt Church of Christ, which is now known as East Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson, TN.
Rosie was a dedicated Christian where she worked in the nursery, the tutoring program, food
committee, and also served as a Bible School Teacher for over 25 years.

As a Cancer Survivor, Rosie became very actively involved with the Cancer Society for Relay for Life in 2000.

Rosie was proceeded in death by a son, Guy Bruce Thaxter; a daughter, Brenda Jean Thaxter;
a brother, Edward Clark; a sister, Lula Mae Ford, and two grandsons.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, eight daughters, Mattie Ruth Witherspoon, Alice Marie Williams, Joyce Louise Jarmon, and Patricia Laverne Yarbrough of Jackson, TN; Jacqueline Elaine Long of Humboldt, TN; Sharon Ann Thaxter-Smiley (John) of Huntsville AL; Ada Marie Thaxter of Nashville, TN; and Tracy Marchelle (Thaxter) Hunter of Clarksville, TN; six sons, John Louis Clark, Willie Ray (Kathy) Thaxter, Lee Henry (Dorothy) Thaxter of Jackson, TN; Earl Dewayne (Carol) Thaxter of Mt. Juliet, TN; Aussie Bruce Thaxter, Jr. of Clarksville, TN; and Mark Anthony (Revon) Thaxter of Memphis, TN.

Rosie leaves five brothers, Charlie (Ruby) Clark of Gary, IN; Rufus Clark, Raymond Clark of Jackson, TN; George (Mary) Clark of Merriville, IN; and C.H. (Cora) Clark of Jackson, TN; and three sisters, Virginia Reed, Rose Ann Key of Jackson, TN; and Mattie (James) Weddle of Memphis, TN.

She has a total of 40 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her East Jackson Church of Christ family.
