Robert B. Rheam, 85, of Lewistown, died at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.Born April 18, 1930, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late David S. and Jessie (Hassinger) Rheam.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Rev. James R. Rheam and Charles G. Rheam; and two sisters, Marjorie R. Zook and Dorothy M. Saleskie.Robert is survived by: his wife, Janet L. (Stimely) Rheam, whom he married on Feb. 19, 1951; his sister, Shirley J. Henry, of Reedsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was a 1948 graduate of Reedsville High School.Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.Early in life, he had worked at Reynolds Electric, and then later, worked at Penelec as a district representative and as a lay-out technician for a total of 27 years, retiring in 1993.He was a member of First Baptist Church where he participated as a church deacon, trustee, taught children and adult Sunday School and was a Sunday School superintendent. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 203 in Lewistown.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating.A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Interment will take place in St. Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Robert's name to First Baptist Church, 111 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
