Amelia Searcy Cook, 71, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Rivoli Road in Macon. Pastor Dorsai Atkinson will be officiating. Following the service, the family will greet friends at the home of Hank and June O'Neal.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Trout Unlimited or the Atlanta Opera.

Amelia was born in Macon to the late Martha O'Neal Searcy and Abner Daniel Searcy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Abraham Cook.

She was self-employed as a dressage instructor. Amelia was an artist, a published author, loved fly fishing and was head of After Schools Program.

Survivors include her son, Hansley Templeton Cook of St. Simon's Island, sister, Georgia Hendricks (William) of Carnesville, GA and niece, Rosie Price of Carnesville, GA.

Honorary pallbearers are William Hendricks, Hank O'Neal, Charles Cook, Joe Magnusson, Edgar Zavala, Mark Jaglard and Clay Fowler.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangments.
