Martha 'Patsy' Magness/Wood (daughter of James Washington and Narcissa Barnett/Magness), married Solomon M. 'Bud' Wood in 1838. They raised Martha's Nephew John D. Hurst (son of William and Narcissa Magness/Hurst) b. 1847; his mother died 8 days after he was born, I think they also had a daughter (Mary Martha Wood) and she went with Narcissa's parents and then to her sister Elizabeth and John Tabor. Martha and Solomon had a son in 1840 named James B. Wood. They settled on Crooked Creek, some 15 miles West of Yellville, on what was then Marion, but now Boone County. Martha and Solomon and their son were not murdered in Utah in 1857 as a lot of articles say. Solomon, Martha's spouse, died in 1851. However they are related to the two 'Wood's' that were murdered in Utah in 1857. Very Sad!!!!
