Rev. Dr. Charles Lincoln Bovard was born Alpha, Indiana and was the 9th child of Pvt. James W. and Sarah Waldsmith (Young) Bovard. He was the husband of Clamenta (Smith) Bovard. He was a minister in the South East Indiana Conference and Montana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was Supt. of the English-speaking work of the Meth. Epis. Church in New Mexico. He was President of Montana Wesleyan University 1911-1916.
