Mrs. Mattie Allen Foster, age 81, of 207 Drucilla Drive, Gaffney, widow of Mr. Willie Foster, Jr., died Monday night, April 27, 2015, at 11:38 p.m. at Gaffney Medical Center.

Daughter of the late James Allen and the late Sallie E. Dawkins Allen, she was born on September 24, 1933, in Cherokee County.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith and Ms. Alberta Allen; a brother, Horace Lee Allen; a daughter in-law, Mrs. Jovette Foster; and a brother-in-law, Sammy Huskey.

She was a member of Indian Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Choir and the Usher Board and attended Sunday School.

She is survived by her son, Willie E. Foster (Debra) of Roebuck; her daughter, Ms. Mattie C. Foster of the home; a sister, Mrs. Ella Allen- Huskey; six grandchildren, three of whom were reared in the home, Dean Littlejohn, Derrick Littlejohn and Terrence Hicks; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Bobby Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, at 3 p.m. at Indian Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Mary Jefferies, Pastor Caroline Allen-Jones and Minister Detria Dawkins officiating. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery.
