Daniel P. Lunsford, 64, of Canal Winchester, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at his residence. Born August 26, 1943, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Harold W. and Ida Holsinger Lunsford.

Doublin’ Dan retired from Empire-Detroit Steel where he worked on the pickle line. He was a member of Turnpoint Apostolic Church in Groveport, OH and was formerly a member of Christian Life Center in Mansfield. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Dan had a great passion for playing softball which he passed on to his sons and grandsons.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Wagoner Lunsford; four children, all of Mansfield; three step-children; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Paul Lunsford; three sisters, Kathryn Dormaier, Dolores Meyer and Selma Fuby, all of Mansfield; two step-brothers; three step-sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold W. Lunsford, Jr.; a step brother, Roger Lunsford; and a sister, Thelma Hall.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Christian Life Center with Pastors Gary Hunt, Joe Arata, Mark Meyer and Paul Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
