Mrs. John H. McNaught, 88, life resident of Janesville and member of a pioneer family, died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon in her home, 345 S. Main St. The former Helen Prichard, daughter of Judge Amos T. and Augusta Dearborn Prichard was born Oct. 14, 1877. She was graduated from Janesville High School and was a 1898 graduate of the University of Wisconsin. She was married to John H. McNaught, civil engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad, Nov. 7, 1900. He supervised the building of the railroad bed east of Janesville. He died in 1906. Mrs. McNaught was a life member of First Congregational Church and a charter member of Janesville Branch, American Association of University Women. In 1964 she shared honors with Mrs. James Carr in having an AAUW fellowship grant named for her. Janesville Branch was founded in 1922. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lester M. Blank, Tempe, Ariz., three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
