Mike is well-known for his involvement as a coach and president of the Willits Little League. He was a member of the local Odd Fellows Chapter and the Willits Valley R.E.A.C.T. team. He also gave more than 20 years’ service as a cook and kitchen supervisor for the Willits Senior Center’s monthly breakfasts and annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner.
Mike’s proudest moment was when he became the first Reserve Police Officer to ever receive an “Officer of the Year Award.”
He enjoyed watching old Westerns and collecting John Wayne movies, and could always be seen serving up food for the annual 4th of July BBQ. His greatest enjoyment was camping and hunting with his friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Posey, who he had taken care of for many years prior to their deaths, and his sister, Linda King of Florence, Oregon
