Floyd Bernard Dean was born December 25, 1924 in Waurika, OK, the son of Houston Floyd Dean and Julia Ann Wood Dean. He passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, at the age of 90.

A resident of Ardmore for the past 25 years, Mr. Dean had previously made his home in Marietta. Before leaving to serve with the U.S. Army during World War II, he married Mary Loletta Clark . . . the mother of his three children and the love of his life. During his military career he served in Germany for two years with the Armored Division guarding the SS soldiers and helped bring concentration camp survivors to safety. In addition he attended the Nuremberg trials.

A successful businessman, Floyd enjoyed working in the oil field industry as owner/operator of Dean’s Vacuum Truck and Welding Service. He was a strong minded man who believed in hard work and taking responsibility for one’s own actions. He loved his children and being with his family. His son, Harold, was his best buddy. Floyd also enjoyed drinking coffee with friends at the local restaurants. Mr. Dean was a Christian man who accepted Jesus as his savior many years ago.
